Growing up I knew Aunty Pam as the relative with the small campervan. Loving the outdoors and camping but only seeing her at family events. When I moved to Tywyn I used to see Aunty Pam once a year when she would stay at the Folk Group Camp on Pal Mal site, about half mile from my house.
I would always arrive just in time for tea break where we would enjoy catching up on family news over tea and a biscuit - only 1 biscuit as they were not good for you!
We lost touch when i moved to Grimsby then to Colwyn Bay but Aunty Pam re entered my life when i moved to Wrexham 9 years ago.
On the first day of "freedom" from shielding I sought out Aunty Pam as I needed to speak to a "real" person after months of solitary confinement. From there we sparked up a friendship.
As Aunty Pam's mobility deteriorated I undertook the weekly shop for her. Then, after a spell in hospital, I became primary carer.
I am going to miss our chats and her sense of humour but, whatever you do, you must remember to phone before visiting!
It has been a pleasure getting to know you Aunty Pam and enjoying Saturday afternoon cups of tea.
Thank you.
Janet
